Bilt 2.0 for Rent
Earn Points on Rent Without Fees
Rent is usually the largest expense for any new immigrant. While most landlords charge a 3% fee for credit card payments, Bilt 2.0 solves this while letting you earn valuable travel points and cash back.
How Bilt 2.0 Works
With the 2.0 update, Bilt has shifted how it handles payments to be even more seamless:
- ACH Direct Pull: Bilt pulls funds directly from your linked bank account via ACH. This avoids "convenience fees" while still qualifying you for rewards.
- No Transaction Minimums: The previous requirement to make 5 transactions per month has been phased out in Bilt 2.0. You now earn on rent based on your spending thresholds.
- Routing & Account Numbers: Bilt provides unique numbers to enter into your landlord's portal, making it look like a standard bank transfer.
Double Currency: Points & Bilt Cash
Bilt 2.0 introduces a flexible rewards ecosystem where you can choose how you get paid:
- Tiered Bilt Points: Earn between 0.5x and 1.25x points on rent based on your card usage. To get the maximum 1.25x, your everyday spending should match or exceed your rent.
- Bilt Cash: A new currency that offers 4% back on everyday purchases. You can use Bilt Cash to "boost" your rent points or redeem it dollar-for-dollar for travel, dining, or shopping.
- Transfer Partners: Points still transfer 1:1 to premium partners like Hyatt, United, and American Airlines.
Pro-Tip: You can toggle between earning Bilt Points or Bilt Cash in the app depending on whether you want to save for a big flight or get immediate value back on your spending.
