Gas and Electric
Setting Up PG&E
If you are living in Northern or Central California, PG&E (Pacific Gas and Electric) will likely be your utility provider.
How to Setup
- Online: Visit the PG&E website and select "Start Service."
- Details: You'll need your new address and the date you want the service to begin (usually your move-in date).
- Identification: You might be asked for an SSN. If you don't have one yet, you may need to call their customer service and provide alternative ID or pay a deposit.
Pro-tip: Check if your apartment manager handles the setup for you. Some "all-inclusive" utilities might exist, but usually, PG&E is separate.
PG&E Portal: Start, stop, or move your service at the Official PG&E Site.
